Healthy Maine Partnerships Physical Activity Program
The Maine Physical Activity and Nutrition Program (PANP) coordinates state-wide efforts to support Maine people in achieving recommended levels of physical activity and proper nutrition to prevent and treat chronic diseases, including overweight and obesity.

Informational Sheets on Physical Activity
The Governor's Council on Physical Fitness, Sports, Health, and Wellness has created the following informational sheets on physical activity. Feel free to download these PDF files for use with your programs. If you would like, add your logo to the sheets, but please make sure to give the Maine Governor's Council on Physical Fitness, Sports, Health, and Wellness credit for creating them. We have also included a sheet for youth.

Kids Walk-to-School: A Guide to Promote Walking to School
This guide is a resource to help communities develop and implement a year-long walk-to-school initiative. The guide comes complete with a step-by-step checklist, Kids Walk-to-School tools, including sample letters, surveys, evaluations, and a press release form, safety tips on walking, biking, school bus safety, stranger danger tips, and lots of ideas to make walking to school and active and exciting part of a child's day.

Like to make a positive change in your health?   That's the first step. The Governor's Council on Physical Fitness, Sports, Health, and Wellness has created three informational sheets on physical activity. Start by making small behavior changes that can later become long-term goals. Identify ways you can work around the barriers and place motivating messages around your home and/or office, learn to develop and maintain your fitness level.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity
The Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity at CDC is pleased to announce the launch of the state legislation searchable database. It was created after requests from state partners and is the first public access database of its kind. The database allows users to search for state bills from 2001 to present related to nutrition and/or physical activity.

Healthy Maine Walks
Healthy Maine Walks is sponsored by a coalition of trail, health agencies and organizations working together to build a healthier Maine.
