NUTRITION
At Somerset Heart Health we support policy, environmental change, and programming to increase awareness and promote good habits around proper nutrition.  Nutrition is an integral part of everyone’s life.  Food is something we experience everyday and we feel that educating our community and supporting healthy habits around nutrition can have a large impact on those we serve.  By following good nutritional practices we can do much to avoid obesity and other risk factors for diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, heart disease, high cholesterol, and stroke.  Food can also be used as a tool to facilitate family bonding, a connection between farms and communities, and local economic stimulus.

If you have questions or would like more information on any of our Nutrition Programs, please contact Angela Norton, Nutrition Program Coordinator at (207) 474-7473 ext. 205 or anorton@rfgh.net.
