2010 Highlights

  •  3,000 + children and adults involved in physical activity
  •  650 hours dedicated to support MMK activities from other sources of funding and/or through volunteers.
  •  11 new area trained lifeguards
  •  Move More Kids School-Based Healthy Lifestyles Intervention Program
  •  Over 1,300 schoolchildren snowshoed as part of the Snow Shoe Program this winter despite lack of snow.
  •  Successful After school physical activity programs offered in both Madison & Bingham schools
  •  25+ new certified trainers trained this year to use equipment/offer programs related to physical activity
Additional partnerships formed as a result of the Move More Kids Initiative to 
provide:
  • Feed the Kids Program with the Skowhegan Rotary: served 825 hot meals to families in Madison.
  • Lifeboat Foundation– expanding nutrition & physical activity opportunities to alternative 
  •     education students.



2007-2008  Highlights

  • Move More Kids 8-week Summer Transit Service: 553 riders.
  • 3,752 children and adults involved in physical activity
  • 10 new area trained lifeguards
  • Move More Kids Pediatric Obesity Intervention Program Pilot
  • Over 2,000 schoolchildren had access to new snowshoes as part of the Snow Shoe Program
  • I am Moving, I am Learning Program: 496+ children and adult participation
  • 22 trained through Orienteering Program with over 140 miles logged.
Additional partnerships formed as a result of the Move More Kids Initiative to provide: 
  • Summer Food Program: served 7,000+ meals to children and youth in Skowhegan
  • Kids only Trout Pond by the local Trouts Unlimited Organization
  • Funding for a 21st Century After School Program grant for MSAD#54
