Welcome to the Somerset Heart Health web site, a Healthy Maine Partnership Site. The main purpose of our site is to provide information in support of heart health within Somerset County, and to go beyond our borders to assist others in Maine and across the country. We also want to serve as a resource for information and networking in Somerset County for those involved or interested in other risk reduction and health promotion efforts (see Related Links). Click here for SHH meeting minutes and information.

Somerset Heart Health encourages:

  • Physical Activity in all seasons for all people;
  • Healthy food choices, including availability of more fresh fruits and vegetables, and
  • Tobacco-free living for everyone, including youth.

How to Use Our Web Site

You will see the "buttons" for topics at the top of your screen. Clicking on any one of them will take you to a variety of information. Each topic contains information, resources, contacts, regulations/laws, and links relating to the topic. The information describes best practices in the topic area, and was developed by agencies, organizations, and people from across our county, state and nation with public input.

Other buttons along the left side will link you with sources of funding, data, resources, contacts and general information on health-related issues. (Be sure to check out our Initiatives, Hot Topics, Calendar, and latest quarterly Newsletter.) Some of the documents used on our web site are in PDF format and Adobe Reader is necessary to view these documents. If your computer does not have Adobe Reader, you may download a free copy here: Adobe Reader, or by clicking on the "Get Adobe Reader" icon as shown. Alternative formats are used if available.
