American Diabetes Association
The American Diabetes Association is the nation's leading nonprofit health organization providing diabetes research, information and advocacy. The American Diabetes Association conducts programs in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, reaching more than 800 communities. Their web site includes the newest information and research, recipes, the tip of the day and much more!

American Heart Association
The mission of the American Heart Association is to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. They provide many tools for prevention and advocacy to allow people to "Learn and Live."

American Institute for Cancer Research
AICR is the cancer charity that fosters research on diet and cancer prevention and educates the public about the results. Contents include: Special Features, Recipe Corner, Homemade for Health, and the Diet and Health Guidelines for Health and Prevention.

American Lung Association
The American Lung Association has many programs and strategies for fighting lung disease. Among these are asthma, tobacco control, environmental health, research and education, multicultural programs, advocacy and communications programs.

The mission of the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention is to develop and deliver services to preserve, protect and promote the health and well-being of the citizens of Maine.

They are recognized as the lead federal agency for protecting the health and safety of people, providing credible information to enhance health decisions, and promoting health through strong partnerships.

Healthy Maine Partnerships
At the State level, the Healthy Maine Partnerships are programs and organizations dedicated to promoting health all over Maine. These statewide partners support the 28 local HMPs with training, technical assistance, evaluation, program development, and media help in order to reach the communities at the local level.
