Action for Healthy Kids
This effort represents a response to our nation's epidemic of overweight, sedentary, and undernourished children and adolescents. Action for Healthy Kids is about creating health-promoting schools that support sound nutrition and physical activity as part of a total learning environment.

Bike Storage Program
The Office of Passenger Transportation at MDOT acts as a broker to help provide bicycle storage and parking equipment for municipalities, employers, and organizations. The recommended facilities have been reviewed by MDOT staff and a discounted price is available because this equipment is being ordered in volume. Some of the storage equipment available is: short-term low security bike racks, moderate to high security bike racks with space for helmet. MDOT Staff will review your bike storage needs with you and place the order. The vendor will ship the bike storage facilities to the purchaser and the purchaser will be billed directly by the vendor.

Kids Walk-to-School:  A Guide to Promote Walking to School
This guide is a resource to help communities develop and implement a year-long walk-to-school initiative. The guide comes complete with a step-by-step checklist, Kids Walk-to-School tools, including sample letters, surveys, evaluations, and a press release form, safety tips on walking, biking, school bus safety, stranger danger tips, and lots of ideas to make walking to school an active and exciting part of a child's day.

Maine Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (MAHPERD)
MAHPERD is a non-profit organization for professionals and students in related fields of health, physical education, recreation and dance. They are dedicated to improving the quality of life for all Mainers by supporting and promoting effective educational practices, quality curriculum, instruction, the Maine  Learning Results, and assessment in the areas of health, physical education, recreation, dance and related fields.

Maine Nutrition Network (MNN)
The Maine Nutrition Network (MNN) is a collaboration of public and private partners that coordinate nutrition activities to create an environment that supports the health of Maine people. Healthy eating and physical activity go hand in hand. Every time we talk about nutrition we should include physical activity in the plan.
