2003 Northern Kennebec & Somerset County Community Health Assement
The data provided in this assessment is presented in a format that makes it usable to local businesses, organizations, municipalities and residents. Two Healthy Maine Partnerships located in Northern Kennebec and Somerset counties, Healthy Horizons and Somerset Heart Health, and Fairfield Healthy Communities, a Healthy Community Coalition, have comprised this publication in order to assess, address and enhance the local community health assessment and local asset mapping. This publication provides a snapshot of the local municipalities in the collective service area and will serve as a tool to improve local action planning and build local capacity to respond to health improvement opportunities.
The Health Assessment is available in Word Format and as a PDF document.

Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS)
Chronic diseases and injury account for the vast majority of early death, illness and disability among people in the United States, including Mainers. Behaviors that lead to these health problems, whether personal or the result of cultural or economic conditions, are referred to as behavioral risk factors. The BRFSS collects, analyzes and disseminates this data from an ongoing telephone survey of Maine residents.
